    SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED CHESS TOURNAMENT “Open Palilula Nis 2021”

    УСПЕШНО ОРГАНИЗОВАН ШАХОВСКИ ТУРНИР "Open Palilula Niš 2021"

    The winner of the International chess competition “Open Palilula Nis 2021” for players with rating points ranging from 1,801 to 2,350, is Grandmaster Sinisa Drazic from Novi Sad, who won with 7.5 points from 9 games. The second-placed is Nenad Todorović from Niš, and the third-placed is international master Branimir Maksimović.

    International sports activity in chess as part of the program of the Saint Day of the City of Nis “Holy Emperor Constantine and Empress Jelena” and the event Palilula Evening 2021, gathered 26 players (grandmasters, international masters, several fide masters) from Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania.

    The prize fund at the tournament was 60,000 dinars. In addition to the six prizes in the main competition, prizes were awarded for the best young player, the best retired player and the best player from Palilula.

    This event, which gathered prominent chess masters, was attended by the President of the Municipality Bratislav Vuckovic and Vice President Lazar Dinic, President of the Municipal Assembly of Palilula Nikola Bozic, Vice President of the Assembly of the City of Nis Prof. Dr. Igor Novakovic.

    Chess tournament “Open Palilula Nis 2021” was organized by the chess association “Skolarac” Nis, under the auspices of Palilula Municipality. His Excellency, the Ambassador of Sweden to Serbia, Mr. Jan Lundin, also attended the closing ceremony. (Photo-text, D. Vidojković)
