Gradska opstina Palilula

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PALILULAC Football Club, a monograph written by Časlav Sibinović, professor of physical education, was published. This book, according to the author, is not only about “Palilulac”, but also about the development of football in Nis, about the founding of the first clubs, about the competition system, a part about the history of Nis, the history of Palilula, about the very organization of the club before the war, post-war football in Niš until today.

Professor Časlav Sibinović, born in Palilulac, played for Palilulac, and then spent 50 years there in various positions. At the end of the eighties, he was also the president of the club. According to the journalist Tomislav Santrac, one of the reviewers of the monograph, that period is important for the club because it was then that “the foundations were laid” and the construction of the field on Delijski Vis began.

The club was a place of gathering and upbringing of young people, numerous families who supported the work of the club. Bata Vučković, the president of the Palilula City Municipality, had his first football steps in Palilulac, as a seventeen-year-old young man, who fondly remembers those days.

The monograph was published by the Association of Physical Education Pedagogues in Niš, the Football Association of Niš, the Football Association of the Eastern Serbia Region and the Advanced Department of Physical Education Pedagogues from Bratislava, which deals with the history of physical education.The promotion of the monograph will be held on Wednesday, November 23, in the hall of the Niš Cultural Center from 6:00 p.m. (D.V)
