    ПРИЗНАЊЕ ОПШТИНЕ ПАЛИЛУЛА „ОЛИМПИЈЦИМА“ ГИМНАЗИЈЕ

On the occasion of the exceptional results of the students of the Grammar school “Svetozar Markovic” at the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics IOAA 2020 and the Balkanijada in Mathematics, the President of the City Municipality of Palilula Bratislav Vuckovic organized a reception for the laureates of the competition and director of this educational institution Prof. Dr. Marijan Misic.

On this occasion, the President presented recognitions and letters of thanks to the students of the Gymnasium: Aleksa Djordjevic, winner of the silver medal at the Balkan Physics Olympiad, Momcilo Tosic, graduate of the “Svetozar Markovic” Gymnasium, winner of the silver medal at the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The Estonian and Jovan Arizanović, the winner of the bronze medal at the Balkan Mathematical Games. This occasional ceremony, organized according to the recommendations of the Crisis Staff, was also attended by Vice President Lazar Dinić. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics was canceled, but in order for students who passed the national selections to still participate in the world-class competition, the IOAA International Council decided to organize an online GeCAA competition.

279 students from 38 countries participated in the Olympics. The students of the Gymnasium have already achieved significant successes at the Olympics in astrophysics and astronomy, and the public still remembers the medals brought from this competition by the brothers Bogdan and Novak Stanojević. International competitions mean a lot to awarded students. It is a reward for the effort and work invested and motivation to continue and encourage younger friends. Judging by the current successes of the students of this high school, the former “Olympians”, medal winners, got their successors. (D. Vidojkovic)
