Gradska opstina Palilula

On the territory of the City Municipality of Palilula, CUSTOMS OFFICE NIS is located. On October 6, the President of the Municipality of Palilula, Bratislav Vuckovic, welcomed Sasa Milenkovic, the Head of the Nis Customs House. Cooperation and opportunities to support internal customs units were discussed.

The regional unit – Nis Customs House, is one of 15 in the system of the Ministry of Finance – Customs Administration of Serbia. In its composition, in Nis, Knjazevac, Vranje, Leskovac, Strezimirovci, Prokuplje, Ribarci, Presevo, Ristovac, Prohor Pcinjski, it already has internal units, organized customs offices, and customs offices. Through their organizational units, the Customs Offices conduct customs procedures in passenger and goods traffic – customs control measures, customs clearance of goods, suppression of illegal imports, customs administrative and customs misdemeanor procedures, sale of customs goods, and forced collection of customs duties.

Today, the place and role of customs are largely different. Apart from being an important link in the chain of support for international trade, the modern customs service also has an extremely important role in the security system of each country, as a segment of the security system in the fight against international terrorism and transnational crime and in the overall protection of citizens.
