    30th “PALILULA EVENING” PROMOTION

    ТРИДЕСЕТА ПРОМОЦИЈА “ПАЛИЛУЛСКЕ ВЕЧЕРИ”

    In front of about ten thousand visitors, at the Palilula ramp and in the surrounding streets of Palilula, on June 3, the traditional manifestation “Palilula Evening 2022” was held as part of the City’s celebration of the Days of “Saint Emperor Constantine and Empress Jelena”. The participants of the program, guests from the City and the region and the present citizens were greeted by the Mayor of Niš Dragana Sotirovski and the President of the City Municipality Palilula Bratislav Vučković. The City Municipality of Palilula has prepared a diverse cultural, artistic and sports program for the residents of Nis and all Nis visitors. The meraklija style life of the people of Palilula was revived by the cultural art societies KUD KOVILJE, KUD ABRAŠEVIĆ, Ensemble of folk dances and songs – MOZAIK, Teacher’s Lira, Ethno group GRACIJA as well as the groups LEGENDE and Crne Mambe, and they were joined by the actors of the National Theater in Niš, Ivan and Miroljub Nedović and journalists-hosts of the program Jovica Milanović and Dragan Stojanović Žika.

    The President of Palilula Municipality, Bratislav Vučković, pointed out that numerous accompanying events were also organized. A wine and handicrafts fair was held in Episkopska Street, and the second World Cup in marbles was also held. Hospitality and tourism employees of Niš organized the preparation and tasting of specialties. As part of sports events, certificates of appreciation and important recognitions were distributed to sports workers and clubs. In cooperation with the Archive of the City of Nis, replicas of old newspaper editions were prepared, which were distributed by the Koolporters to the visitors of the event.

    “We completed this Jubilee Palilula evening with additional activities compared to other years. The celebration of the event began on June 1, when a forum was held at the Niš Cultural Center on the occasion of the filming of a film about the suffering of Serbs in the Norwegian camp in Karašjok, the filming of which was supported by our municipality,” says the president of Palilula Municipality. “We have also prepared two events for Saturday, June 4. From Mramor to Lalinac, we are organizing the 8th Moravian regatta, which is dedicated to the teacher Viden Jovanović, who died saving his student from the lake. We also supported the organization of the Second International Football Tournament of Balkan Veterans with guests from Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece and Republika Srpska” held in Popovac.
