    WREATHS WERE LAID IN BUBANJ MEMORIAL PARK

    The day of the liberation of the City of Nis in the Second World War was an occasion to visit the memorials to the fallen patriots. Wreaths were laid in the Memorial Park “Bubanj”, where the fascists shot more than 10 thousand citizens, brought from the Death Camp at the Red Cross. The delegation of the City of Nis, the Serbian Army, the Ministry of the Interior, the Association of Veterans, the Nisava Administrative District, the City Municipality of Palilula of the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center, the Association for Nurturing the Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars paid tribute to the executed victims.

    On behalf of Palilula Municipality, the wreath was laid by the President of the Municipality Bratislav Vuckovic and members of the Municipal Council Predrag Petrovic and Sasa Usenovic. The city of Nis was liberated on October 14, 1944, when the 22nd Division of the People’s Liberation Movement entered the city and attacked German troops. (D.V.)
