    SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED EXERCISE “SERBIA 2019”

    On the King Milan Square in Nis, a ceremony was held on the occasion of the completion of a three-day international exercise in the field of emergency situations “Serbia 2019”, attended by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. More than 500 people from seven countries – Serbia, Russia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Turkey, Cuba and representatives of the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Center – took part in a three-day exercise.At the exercise, all aspects of rescuing people in different situations were seen – during fire putting down from the ground and from the air, in vessels, rescuing from ruins, using rescue equipment and aircraft. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that Serbia could learn a lot from Russian friends in the field of emergency response. The most important lesson in the words of President Vucic is regional integration. “Elemental disasters do not know the boundaries and that is why we have to protect the population together,” the President of Serbia stressed. We will equip people, improve infrastructure, build facilities to protect against potential disasters. Cooperation is important and global, and this was demonstrated by Russia that helped us whenever we had natural disasters. He asked Deputy Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Chuprian to convey his greetings to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

    The exercise started at the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center in Nis, and the first demonstration exercise was carried out by members of the Emergency Situations Department of the MIA of Serbia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. At the Bovan Lake, a demonstration exercise of rescue teams was held where the aspects of rescuing people in different situations were demonstrated: when extinguishing the fire from the ground and from the air, rescue from ruins, using rescue equipment and aviation. Aleksandar Ždrale, President of Palilula Municipality, was also present among numerous officials, representatives of state bodies and institutions, international delegations, festivities on the occasion of the completion of the three-day international practice.
