Organizations, institutions and associations, in cities and municipalities where NIS operates (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak, Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Novi Becej, Srbobran and Zitište) received funds for projects under the competition that was carried out under the “TOGETHER FOR THE COMMUNITY` program for 2017.

In the City of Nis the funds were allocated to the following associations-institutions in the total amount of 5,000,000.00 dinars: NURDOR – National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, received 2,200,000.00 dinars for equipping the newly-built children’s hemato-oncology department with the necessary medical equipment, and furniture, in order to provide adequate space for reception and treatment of all small patients from the southern region of Serbia. Safe House for Women and Children Victims of Domestic Violence, was approved 1,000,000.00 dinars for providing more energy efficient space for the Safe House beneficiaries by replacing worn-out windows with new ones, which allowed the use of several rooms for children, and the Association of Citizens “Youth Club Palilula” received 1,800,000.00 dinars the construction of a sports court for basketball and small football in the courtyard of the Institute for the education of youth in Nis for children from dysfunctional families, but also for all young people from the territory of the City Municipality of Palilula.

“Together for the Community” program is a model of cooperation between NIS a.d. with local communities, launched in 2009 with the following goals: development of strong and stable partnership relations with institutions and citizens in local communities, recognition of needs and contribution to the development of local communities in order to improve the quality of life of the population.

Business of NIS is in the spirit of corporate social responsibility together with building a relationship of mutual trust and loyalty. Over the course of nine years under the “Together for the Community” program, through a public competition, more than 900 projects were realized in the amount of more than 900 million dinars. Public competition offers support to projects of institutions and associations in the territory of 11 cities / municipalities in the following areas: sport, culture, ecology, science / education, public health and social protection. The cities and municipalities in which the competition is conducted, which are defined according to the territory in which NIS operates, are: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak, Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Kikinda, Kanjiža, Novi Becej, Srbobran and Žitište.
