On January 14, 2022, the President of Palilula Municipality, Bratislav Vuckovic, and his associates, organized a reception for the members of the author film project “Death Camp in Karasjok”, which has a theme the suffering of Serbs in Norwegian camps during World War II.

On this occasion, the President of Palilula Municipality was presented with a letter of thanks and a poster of this film project as a sign of partnership in further cooperation. “As a historian, I think it is very important that the story of the suffering of Serbian detainees in Norwegian camps is screened, because it talks about Serbian victims during the Second World War. It is important that others outside Serbia hear about this. Not only to understand the Second World War, but also because it is the background of the contradictions and conflicts that we have been finding lately. Many prisoners who came to Norway were sent here only because they were Serbs. While women and children were killed in Jasenovac, men were sent as slaves to Norway as a result of an agreement between the Ustashas and the Germans. I am happy to work with good people such as producer Branko Dimeski and director Kjetil Palmkvist and historians from Serbia and Norway and everyone else who helped shed light on this important story, said Knut Flovik Thoresen, historian and writer.

The film crew, led by director Kjetil Palmqvist, also includes Terje Holm, cameraman, Knut Flovik Thoresen, historian and writer, Djordje Bojanic. history teacher and Branko Dimeski, film producer. (Photos by Dragan Vidojković, ECOpolis)
