The Mayor of the Aerdodrom Municipality, North Macedonia and the president of Palilula Municipality, Nis, Zlatko Marin and Bratislav Vuckovic, today (April 12), on the 16th birthday of the Airport, signed the Charter of Mutual Friendship between the two municipalities in the presence of the Mayor of Nis Dragana Sotirovski, who led the Serbian delegation.
“I am very pleased to say that today we have formalized the cooperation that we recently started with our friendly municipality of Palilula. “In that way, we have opened new opportunities for the development of the European path,” said Mayor Marin.
The twinning was also welcomed by his colleague from Palilula, President Vuckovic, who said that “the first neighbors should cooperate, especially in the field of solving environmental problems, in order to exchange experiences in the work of governments on achieving the European agenda and especially when applying for European funds.”
The two of them pointed out that it is in the common interest to encourage individual awareness and good will that will help develop cultural, friendly and economic ties.
The Serbian delegation, which included representatives of the North Macedonian minority, also met with some members of the Serbian Cultural-Information Center “Spona” from Skopje, where they discussed cooperation between the cultural centers of Skopje and Nis and possible future projects. It is suggested that children who learn Serbian at school as an elective subject visit their peers in Palilula in Nis. (Insider, April 12, 2021, in Macedonia, edited by D.V.)
