World Cleaning Day is celebrated on September 18, 2021. On this day, volunteers and partners around the world gather to free our planet from the garbage. The campaign is focused on cleaning up garbage and poorly managed waste from our beaches, rivers, forests and streets.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leien, is the patron of this year’s World Cleaning Day on September 18, 2021.

“I am very proud to be the patron of World Cleaning Day. We need to change the way we treat our planet, take more care of its resources, and preserve its biodiversity. “Everyone can contribute to this,” the President said.
