This year’s third Health Bazaar was held on Saturday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the plateau in front of the Niš Cultural Center. This health activity of the Health Center in Niš was held in cooperation with the City Municipality of Palilula. Director of the Niš Health Center Prof. Dr. Milorad Jerkan emphasized that the main goal of the Health Bazaar is the promotion of health and healthy lifestyles, as well as reducing the number of new cases and the number of deaths from mass noncountagious diseases. According to the president of Palilula Municipality, Bratislava Vučković, the health check action will have a significant impact on changing bad lifestyle habits among our citizens, which is the main problem of achieving quality and efficient health care in our society today. The priority in our joint work and cooperation, the Municipality of Palilula and the Health Center, which has been very successful so far, will be looking at new possibilities in the prevention and treatment of our citizens in all areas.

The Health Bazaar included: blood pressure measurement, blood sugar level measurement, body fat percentage determination, BMI determination, distribution of advice regarding proper nutrition for athletes, education on breast self-examination, distribution of educational material with expert advice from doctors related to health and healthy lifestyles.

The employees of Palilula municipality, according to tradition, were excellent hosts and with their organization and hospitality set a good example for the next Bazaars that will be held in other city municipalities of the City of Niš.

The third Health Bazaar was well attended. The health workers of the Niš Health Center were distributed at five points, and there was great interest in the professional advice of doctors and the distribution of promotional health-educational material. Citizens whose health condition has deviated from normal values ​​are recommended to contact their chosen general practitioner for further diagnosis, monitoring or possible treatment.
