A meeting of the SCTM Network of City and Municipal PR Managers on the Implementation and Organization of the State Protocol was held in Belgrade on September 27, 2019, with the participation of more than one hundred representatives of local self-governments, both from information services and persons dealing with the protocol. In their cities and Municipalities. The City of Palilula Nis, Dragan Vidojkovic, Marija Ciric and Ivica Stojanovic participated in this event.
Ljudmila Milatovic from the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Serbia conveyed her knowledge in this interesting area. During the meeting, participants were presented with a handbook on the basis of national and diplomatic protocol, and a PPT presentation with examples of protocol activities was presented, with an emphasis on the differences of particular rules in specific situations. During the lecture, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the types of protocol, its importance, and implementation, and a special part of the presentation was related to the proper addressing, presentation, and introduction of the interlocutors.
The importance of sifting and / or seating priorities was emphasized, as well as written communication and proper use of titles. There was also a mini-simulation of the signing ceremony, illustrating the positive and negative examples, as well as the state symbols, rules for their expiration and abuse. This activity was implemented under the Program “Support to Local Governments in Serbia on the Road to the EU – Second Phase”, funded by the Government of Sweden.
