Since September 1st, the School for Primary and Secondary Education “14 October” in Niš has been working under the new name – ŠOSO “Carica Jelena”. This school in the Municipality of Palilula organized a special ceremony on the occasion of receiving first graders and giving gifts to pupils. The school bags and school supplies, the gift of the company Hijeroglif and the Municipality of Palilula, was handed over by the member of the Palilula Municipal Council Bojana Jovic. She wished the students and parents a lot of success in education. According to the director of the school, Miša Ljubenović, this educational insittuion has begun the process of transformation into a resource center with the task of providing additional assistance to children with disabilities. “The goal is to form responsible members of the society through education, who will be able to earn and sustain themselves,” said Ljubenovic. School “14.oktobar” in Nis, now ŠOO “Empress Jelena”, which currently has about 145 pupils, has been around since 1967 and has children with disabilities from pre-school to high school age.
