On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Nis in the Second World War, wreaths were laid at the Monument to the Liberators on King Milan Square, in the city center.
Wreaths were laid by members of the delegation of the City of Nis – the Mayor and the president of the City Assembly, representatives of the Serbian Army, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nisava district, the Alliance of Fighters, the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center, the Association for Nurturing the Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars.
On behalf of the City Municipality of Palilula, the wreath was laid by the President of the Municipality Bratislav Vuckovic and members of the Municipal Council Predrag Petrovic and Sasa Usenovic.
The city of Nis was liberated on October 14, 1944, when the 22nd Division of the People’s Liberation Movement entered the city and attacked German troops. (D.V.)
