The Safe House and the City of Nis announced the start of the global campaign “16 days of activism against gender-based violence” in order to draw the public’s attention to the fact that women must not suffer and hide violence, but must be protected, and abusers must be severely punished. The International Day Against Violence Against Women was also marked by the activities of the Office for Youth in the City Municipality of Palilula. The campaign participants were greeted at the City Hall by Dušica Davidović, the Deputy Mayor of Niš. It is necessary to systematically work on the prevention of domestic violence, whereby all social segments should be involved from the aspect of their powers. Only with joint efforts, according to the president of Palilula Municipality, Bratislav Vučković, can we stand in the way of violence and show that society has zero tolerance for violence against women.
