The Saint Sava Academy was held in ST Sava Hall, near the Orthodox Cathedral, in the honor of the first Serbian educator, prince, monarch, writer, diplomat, and the first Archbishop of the autocephalous Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Sava, Rastko Nemanjic, with the blessing of His Eminence Bishop Arsenije of Nis.
The Academy was traditionally organized by the Church Municipality of the City of Nis and NCPD “Branko”, with the support of the City of Nis, the University of Nis, and the Ground Forces Command.
The ceremony was attended by the President of Palilula Municipality Bratislav Vuckovic. The Bishop of Nis, Arsenije, addressed the audience in a welcoming speech. This year’s lecture was given by Professor Dr. Milovan Bratic, Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Nis. With the prescribed security measures and a limited number of guests, an appropriate art program was held. (D.V.)
