The planting of trees around the city landfill “Bubanj” in Palilula has begun, which will last until the end of November, and the tree line represents a protective belt from gases and unpleasant odors that the wind carries towards the city and surrounding settlements. Workers of the Green Sector of JKP “Mediana” planted a total of 387 seedlings of deciduous and coniferous trees in the wind protection zone of the landfill. About 5.2 million dinars, provided by the Secretariat for Environmental Protection, will be set aside for this landscaping near the landfill. The belt around the landfill covers 2,557 meters. “Plane and maple were planted in two rows and spruce in one row.
We have received a ready-made program, in which the types of seedlings, the distance from the waste and one row from the other are clearly defined, “said the director of the Zelenilo sector Mihajlo Miljković. In addition to this project, through the Secretariat for Environmental Protection, JKP “Mediana” will arrange seven schoolyards in the city. (EKOpolis)
