On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Nis in the Second World War, wreaths were laid at the Monument to the Liberators on Kralj Milan Square, in the city center.
Wreaths were laid by members of the delegation of the City of Nis – the Mayor and the President of the City Assembly, representatives of the Serbian Army, the Ministry of Interior affairs, Nisava district, the Alliance of Fighters, the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center, the Association for Nurturing the Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars. On behalf of Palilula Municipality, the wreath was laid by the President of the Municipality Bratislav Vuckovic and the Deputy President Lazar Dinic.
The city of Nis was liberated on October 14, 1944, when the 22nd Division of the People’s Liberation Movement entered the city and attacked German troops.
