I congratulate all Citizens of Palilula Municipality in Nis, Statehood Day.

SRETENJE is a day that reminds us that the Serbs fought heroically for both freedom and democracy. The fights for national liberation from the Turks, which began with Karadjordje in 1804, by national unity and great battles, continued with the adoption of the Sretenje Constitution in 1835, by Prince Miloš.
The Sretenje Constitution of Serbia was made according to the Belgian and French constitutional laws and charters of that time and was very liberal and contemporary. It announced at the beginning of modern European democracy.

Courage and state wisdom, patriotism and democracy, our nationality and further development of Serbia are are heritage.
