On December 6-7, a two-day training for representatives of local governments in Serbia was held in Novi Sad on the implementation of the Law on the Protection of Accusers within the USAID Project for Responsible Governance (GAI Project), in cooperation with the portal PISTALJKA (published by the Eutopia Association).
From the City Municipality of Palilula in Nis, this type of training has been mastered and certified by Slobodanka Djordjevic Mladenovic, the Secretary of the Assembly and Dragan Vidojkovic, the Municipal Commissioner in the SCTM.
Participants in the training are familiar with the concept and practice of excitation, the obligations that local self-governments have under the applicable legal framework, examples of good practice from the domestic and international environment, along with the presentation of the model for organizing the alert system, and elaboration of recommendations on how to structure the existing systematization establish or improve internal alert procedures.
In addition to journalists, lawyers and lawyers of Pištaljka portal, one of the lecturers was Tom Devine, Legal Director of the Project for Responsible Government from Washington and international expert in the field of protection of exciters. Tom Devine also participated as a consultant on the drafting of the Law on Protection of the Accusers in Serbia, which was adopted in 2014.
