Gradska opstina Palilula

The delegation of the Pupils Parliament of the Elementary School “Bubanjski heroji” visited the Municipality of Palilula. The young “parliamentarians”, pupils of the seventh and eighth grade, the school director Verica Radenkovic, the pedagogue of the school Dragan Stevanovic and the librarian Tijana Randjelovic, were welcomed by the president of Palilula Municipality Aleksandar Zdrale, and his associates.

Student-pupils Parliament is a legally guaranteed formal institution that allows students a democratic way of associating to represent the interests of all pupils at school, as well as students’ participation in making appropriate decisions. Activities and actions organized by the Student Parliament make life in the local community more contentious. By establishing cooperation with pupils’ parliaments, the local community better acquaints with the problems and needs of children and young people. This is an example of good practice that is being implemented in the Municipality of Palilula.

This generation of pupils also wanted to find out what is the role of the Municipality where their school is situated, said the director of the school, Verica Radenkovic. This meeting enabled the children to get acquainted with the management of the Municipality, the president, the head of the management, find out which are the most important activities of this territorial organization of the City of Nis. Our “parliamentarians” constantly have some ideas that are very successful in their work. According to the assessment of the Ministry of Education and the Institute for the Value of Quality, the primary school Bubanjski Heroji was ranked among the top ten schools in Serbia several years ago. Representatives of the Student Parliament of the school “Bubanjski heroji” also spoke with the Head of Municipal Administration, Marija Brajdić, visited the communal and inspection service, the Department for Legal and Common Affairs, the Department for the Affairs of the Cabinet of the President, the Service Center of the Municipality.

President of Palilula Municipality, Aleksandar Ždrale, emphasized that cooperation with all educational institutions on the territory of the Municipality is being realized within the guidelines of the Action Development Program. Significant is the participation of students in project activities implemented by Palilula Municipality in cross-border projects and involvement in the work of the Youth Office of the Municipality.
